OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Pro Subscription for Engineering and Research Applications
OpenAI on Thursday introduced a new subscription tier for its chatbot, ChatGPT, priced at $200 per month. The new plan, called ChatGPT Pro, is tailored for use in engineering and research fields as the AI firm aims to broaden the industrial applications of its technology.
The ChatGPT Pro tier joins OpenAI’s existing subscription offerings, including ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise. This launch reflects OpenAI’s efforts to further commercialize its AI innovations, which have played a pivotal role in driving the ongoing artificial intelligence boom.
Subscribers to ChatGPT Pro will gain access to OpenAI’s most advanced tools, including unlimited usage of the new reasoning models o1, o1 mini, and GPT-4o, as well as advanced voice capabilities, the company announced. Additionally, the plan includes o1 pro mode, a feature that leverages increased computational power to handle more complex queries.
The move highlights OpenAI’s ambitions to cater to professionals in specialized industries while capitalizing on its leading position in the AI market.
